Just wanted to do a post on our other princess - Kayla. She is our KRAZY little girl. You never know what this girl is going to say or do next. Her latest "fashion statement" is wearing a swimsuit.
She wore her swimsuit (with panties) almost every day last week (and she has it on today too). I can get her dressed in the mornings and within an hour, she has something else on whether it is the swimsuit or dress-up clothes or a few weeks ago it was this one particular outfit that she wanted to wear EVERYDAY whether it was clean or not!!! --The red shirt is the top, and it has a pair of pink "soft pants" (as Kayla calls them). Stretch pants are the only kind of pants she will wear now (well, when she is dressed to go somewhere that is!!) She absolutely refuses to wear jeans!!!
Kayla has never been one to want to sleep in her bed, she usually ends up going to sleep on the couch or on the floor in our room, and she would probably prefer sleeping in Katie's car seat than sleeping in her own bed.
And needless to say, she usually always ends up in our bed. So, a couple of weeks ago, I asked Kayla why she never sleeps in her bed, and she quickly responded with "Well, there's a hole in my wall." So, I had her show me and it was this teeny tiny hole that is in the wall from when we ran a phone line from that room to another room. The thing with this hole is - it is practically covered by her dresser, so not sure how she even noticed it. We put Katie's crib in her room on Saturday, and thought she might sleep in there Saturday night with Katie, but no she didn't - she refused to because of the hole in the wall. So, Waylen finally covered the hole with some tape and she has went to bed in her own bed since then, and as stayed all night in her bed every night this week. --So not sure what she was worried about with this hole, but to think this whole time she wasn't sleeping in her bed just because of that tiny hole!!! --Guess we'll have to see how long this last!!
Kayla was assigned her first talk in primary on Feb. 28th. I found a really simple talk (and pictures to match each saying) that went like this:
Jesus loves everyone
Jesus forgives those you make mistakes
Jesus teaches the gospel
Jesus serves others
Jesus heals the sick
Jesus loves everyone
I took her down to the church on Saturday afternoon, so she could practice using the microphone and go through her talk a couple of times. It went great, she was so excited, and she stayed excited all day Sunday. She even asked me before she went to her Primary class if it was time to give her talk. --Well, not sure what happened, but she got up there and FROZE!!! She wouldn't say a word. So, I called Hayden up to have him do it for her, but then she decided she would do it because of course, she didn't want Hayden doing it!! Well, by this time, the primary kids started giggling and so then, she FROZE again and never did do it. --Not sure if she would have done better had she went first. She was sitting on Waylen's lap waiting her turn, and he said while the girl before her was giving her talk, Kayla started getting tears in her eyes. Kayla says she didn't do it because all the kids were laughing at her. --So who knows?? But the thing is ever since then, she'll be playing at home, and she'll stop and say "Jesus loves everyone, huh, mom?" and/or "Jesus heals the sick, right, mom?" and/or "Jesus serves everybody. Is that the next one?" She has probably said her talk at least three times (without any help) since then!!-- Guess we'll see how she does next time she is asked to do a talk!!!
Like I said - You never know what this KRAZY little girl is going to do or say next.
