10 YEARS!!!!

I just can't believe that is has already been 10 years since Waylen and I got married. I'm always saying how fast time flies and how I just can't believe it has already been _______ since _________, but seriously where did the last 10 years go? --It seems just like yesterday when Elder Dunkin gave me "Elder Hoover's" address and said "Here, he wants you to write him!!!"  I was shocked, excited, thrilled, confused, amazed, you name it - I felt it!! --For those who may not know the story of how Waylen and I met - You probably do already know we met while he served his mission in my hometown of Waycross, GA.  He served in the other ward there, and in March 1998, a family member of mine in his ward invited the elders to our Mobley family reunion, where we officially met.  After that day, I only saw him in passing while at church for the next few weeks before he was due to go home.  Then, when he left, Elder Dunkin (who served in my ward) gave me his address. So that's the short story of how we met.  Nothing too exciting, but that slip of paper with his address (which I still have) changed my life forever!! --And when we first got married, Waylen always got a kick out of telling people we met at a family reunion in GA, and that he just got me to start wearing shoes b/c I never had any, and his all time favorite joke: "So, Faith got pulled over right after we got married, and the officer asked her "Got any ID?" and Faith said 'Bout What?'" (And he says the 'bout what?' in the fakest Southern accent I've ever heard.!!!!) --That's just one of many that I've heard since we got married!!!

In honor of our 10 years, 10 things that I love/am thankful for about Waylen:

1 - I'm thankful that he is such a hard worker and goes out to work every day to support our family.  Although, I do wish he would take a few vacation days every once in awhile!!! But then - when he does I am often ready for him to go back to work!!!

2 - I'm thankful that he feels my place right now is at home with the kids. Although, it may sometimes get difficult financially, and would be much easier if I had a full time job too.  But everything always works out for the best!!

3 - I can never stay mad at him. If we have an argument or disagreement about something, he will say or do something that will make me laugh (or realize how dumb I sound or am being).

4 - He is full of lots of laughs. He always has a funny story or joke to be told, and is usually always the life of the party.

5 - He is a wonderful daddy. The kids just love him so much, even though he doesn't have much patience with them (or that's my opinion!!). But he always takes time with them when he gets home from work whether it is helping Hayden with his reading, Kayla with cleaning up her messes, and just giving Katie kisses.  And the kids' favorite thing to do with daddy is WRESTLE (which always occurs right before bedtime!!)

6 - He is great to help out with getting the kids ready for bed. --The bedtime routine is the one part of the day that I hate because Tired Kids (or some nigths- Rowdy Kids from Wrestling) + Tired Mom = NIGHTMARE!! -- But Waylen always helps out, even on Wed. nights when he gets home at 7 from work, eats dinner, and has to be at his bishopric meeting by 7:30!!

7 - I am thankful for his calling as 2nd counselor in the bishopric. It has blessed us in more ways than we know!! --(And the kids are actually better at church on Sundays without him sitting with them!!)

8 - He is a crafty, handyman. He always has some project going on. From bathroom remodel to kitchen remodel to privacy fence outside, he has thought of it and did a lot of it himself.  He always has a plan on how to make our home a more beautiful home.

9 - I'm thankful that he is worthy to give priesthood blessings. There have been many times we have had sick kids in the middle of the night, and a priesthood blessing is just what they needed to get through the night!!

10 - I'm thankful that he's Waylen and is his own unique self!!!! He's the best!!

Look forward to many more adventures and memories during the next 10 years!!!
