Just another update on how things are going with our upcoming addition. I am feeling good, much better this week than I did the last few weeks. I had been pretty busy for about two weeks helping Waylen's mom do a lot of canning, which I think wore me out. Then I had to take Kayla over to Pueblo one day last week for a dentist appointment, so I just haven't done too much of anything this week. I did have to go on Tuesday and have another ultrasound done because when I went in for my appointment last Tuesday, I was measuring at 26 cm instead of 30 cm. So, my doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to check the growth and anatomy of the baby to see what she was measuring. And thankfully (which I was pretty sure of) everything turned out fine. I had to go in today to my doctor to discuss the results and she said everything looks good. The baby (which is for sure a GIRL) is measuring 29 wk., 6 days and I am like 31 weeks and 2 days. She said that is just fine and not a big deal, my amniotic fluid levels are good, and when she measured me today I was measuring just right. So who knows what the deal was last week when she measured me-the dr. said that sometimes it all depends on how the baby is positioned. So has of now- everything seems just fine!!! -
During the ultrasound, they weren't able to get a good picture of the face b/c she kept covering her face with her arms, and playing "peek-a-boo". But we were able to see her stick her tongue out at us!!! Kayla went with me to my ultrasound, and didn't really care too much about watching the screen (as if she can tell that it's a baby), but she gets a kick out of telling everyone that the baby stuck her tongue out!! Before we went to the appointment, she told her daddy: "I going to see the baby and I get to hold her!!"" So I think she was a little disappointed when she didn't get to see and hold her. Then she was excited that she got to hear the baby's heartbeat today at my appointment, and loved telling Hayden the fact that she got to hear the baby's heartbeat and that he didn't!!! --Last month, it was that she wanted a baby "like J.D's" (her friend from church, who has a little baby sister), well, this month it is that she wants a baby "like Papa Night's" ("Night" is Mike (my dad), who has a new grandbaby in GA too!!). Not sure why she started saying that, but she said it one day a few weeks ago and says it all the time now!!
Hayden (I think!!) is starting to get a little excited about the baby. He has been able to feel her kick a few times and thinks it is the neatest thing!! And tonight, she was kicking around a ton while I was reading him a bedtime story, so I told him to feel her kick, and he said: "Whoa!! She kicks pretty good!!" --Anyone who knows Hayden knows he isn't a very patient kid, so he often asks what is taking her so long to get here. One day, I told him: "Oh, she'll get here sometime soon after Halloween" and he said "Halllllooooweeen (imagine Hayden's voice) that's so loooooong from now!!!" --But if October goes by as fast as September is (I can't believe it is half way over) then it will be here in no time!!! --So, it will be interesting to see how he acts towards her when she finally gets here. He might surprise us all, and actually like her a little bit more than he does Kayla!!!
