Viva Las Vegas!!

Waylen and I were able to go on a little vacation on the 3rd - 7th of April to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (a year late). We left on Sunday morning for VEGAS!! We went over to Pueblo and ran a few errands, then our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:30, but it was late leaving. We ended up getting into Vegas around 8, about 30 minutes behind schedule. But by the time we got our bag, picked up the rental car, and got checked in at our hotel (which was Treasure Island) - it was almost 10. We walked down the Strip to a Denny's and had a little something to eat, then we walked around until past midnight checking out some of the casinos.
The next day we went and checked out the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (where the show Pawn Stars is filmed)
Definitely doesn't look that crowded on the show!! LOL
Then we headed over to check out the Stratosphere
View of our hotel from the top of the Stratosphere:
Waylen did the "Big Shot" ride on the top:

I wasn't a very big shot!! I am a weakling when it comes to stuff like that. After his ride, we grabbed something to eat before moving on to check out some more sites. We went back to our hotel later in the day, and relaxed in the pool and hot tub for an hour or so. Then, we had dinner at one of the restaurants at our hotel before we headed back out. We looked around a couple of other places before going over to our helicopter ride. The ride was fun and the Strip at night is amazingly beautiful with all the lights.  But unfortunately I wasn't able to get a very good picture. After our helicopter ride, we went back and again checked out some more of the casinos.
We went to New York - New York
the Luxor
the Excalibur
and more!!  We walked around until late again that night.
The next morning, we went and did a time share presentation and we got back to our hotel from that around 12:30, then we had lunch at the buffet at our hotel. We then headed back out to take a look around (there is so much to see there, it is crazy!!) - we ended up walking down one side of the strip for what seemed like 2 miles. We checked out the big Coca Coca Store, the M & M store, a big mall attached to Planet Hollywood, and more. Then we crossed over to the other side and had to walk back - we didn't check out as much on this side - since we had already seen some of it the night before - and we were tired and ready to get back to our hotel. We got back around 4:30, and headed down to the pool for about an hour or so. Later, we got ready to go to the Phantom of the Opera (we had gotten free tickets from doing the time share presentation), which started at 7. It was a great show and we had great seats. I just wish I could have understood all the songs they were singing. After the show, we went back over to our hotel, and ate at Gilley's there. We were pretty tired by then, so we didn't do any more site seeing that night.
On Wednesday, we got up and went to the Hoover Dam, which was about 30 miles away. That was really neat to see.
We were there for a couple of hours, then we stopped and had lunch at an A & W, then stopped at a Bass Pro Shops on our way back to the hotel. The Bass Pro Shops was really cool with a huge fish tank it in,
and then the casino attached to the shop had a huge aquarium in it. Hayden would have loved to be there!!
After we got back to Vegas, we went to the temple and did an endowment session.
That evening, we went and ate at Outback Steakhouse, then went back to the mall by our hotel and did some souvenir shopping. Then we went down to Freemont Street to check it out.
Then at 10 that night, we went to a comedy hypnosis show. It was really funny. We got out of it around 11:30, so we headed back to our hotel and called it a night. We got up the next morning, packed up, and checked out around 10:30, then went to an IHOP to eat. It was our first breakfast in 3 days!! After eating, we decided to go ahead and head over to the airport to return the car and get checked in. It was a good thing we did because it took us an hour to get checked in. -- It was so much fun that week, and I guess we'll have to do it again in another 10 years! But it was good to get home, and we were glad to see the kids and they were glad to see us!!
