Our Valentine's Day

We had a nice Valentine's this year. The kids each got a new shirt from us: Hayden's has a snowboarder on it, and Kayla's has a gingerbread girl, cupcake, and candies with the saying "Too Sweet". Then they were excited to get a package from Papa Mike and Nana with a Cars lunchbox/toolbox (Hayden has turned it into his "secret box" and you have to earn "coins" in order to look in it), a "rabbit" (actually a puppy, but Kayla thought it was a rabbit when she first saw it in the package), and some candy.--I never could get Kayla to just be nice and smile, she was laughing in this one after she had burped. She's such a lady!!!

Waylen and I decided to forgo getting each other anything, and went out on a date. I would have to say that was much better than any gift we could have gotten each other. We went to the early movie on Saturday night and saw:
It was a great movie, the best movie I've seen in a long time. Then after the movie, we went and had dinner. We wanted to try out a new restaurant called the Thai House, but they were packed. We were told it would only be a 15 minute wait, but there were at least 4 other groups/couples ahead of us. Then one guy came in and asked how much longer it would be for him, and they told him about 15 more minutes. He said he had already been there for about 20 minutes. --So with not knowing how long we would have to wait to be seated, then who knows how long to get our food, we decided to go down the street and eat at: We were able to get a table right away, and the service and food was great. Although, both the sandwiches we had wanted are available only from 11-5 each day. So, we both decided to get the Steak Mazaliant (sp?), which was really good.

And of course, anytime we go to Alamosa, we have to go by the grocery store and take advantage of the weekly sales. And this week the trip was to:They were having a "Buy 2, Get 3 Free" sale on their Betty Crocker cake mixes, cookie mixes and frosting. So, we were able to get 10 items for about .84 cents each. Plus, I had a few coupons for some of the items too, so we got some of the cookie mixes and frosting for less than that!! Yeah!! --We had to get a few other things (the basics-milk, orange juice, and eggs) and a few other items that were on sale. In the end we saved more than we spent!!

So, that wraps up our Valentine's Day date. We had a lot of fun, and it was nice to get out for a nice evening without the kiddos, who were still wide awake when we got home around 9:30!!
