Celebrating the 4th of July

We had a good 4th of July holiday. Both of the kids were still sound asleep at 7 when it was time for the flag raising ceremony and pancake breakfast at the church, so I stayed home with the kids while Waylen attended that. Then, we went up to Alamosa for the parade. Hayden enjoyed getting all the candy, and Kayla enjoyed clapping for everyone that was in the parade. After the parade, Hayden asked when the big parade was going to happen. (Note: to those who may not know - Every year our town holds what we call Manassa Pioneer Days, which celebrates the anniversary of the Mormon pioneers reaching Utah all those many years ago. Anyways, during this celebration - our town of less than 1,000 goes to well over 10,000. The days' events include a rodeo, demolition derby, motocross, carnival, and a parade -which has lots of floats -More Info.to Come Later - so you will then know what Hayden means by the big parade. Stay Tuned!!) Later that afternoon, we went over to Waylen's parents for a barbecue and hung out for the rest of the day visiting with everyone. That evening, Hayden had fun lighting sparklers and watching the "fireworks show" that the guys did. Kayla also had fun watching the fireworks, and clapped for most of them.
